Terry initiated the establishment of the entire business group and orchestrated the widespread deployment of visual inspection solutions to client sites, representing a global first in utilizing deep learning technology.

Prior to his role at CarbonBlack, Terry Moon served as a founding member and CSO/COO at SUALAB, an AI startup in the manufacturing industry. During his ten-year tenure, he oversaw the transfer of cutting-edge technology from the lab to clients' production sites and the successful commercialization of AI products. He initiated the establishment of the entire business group and orchestrated the widespread deployment of visual inspection solutions to client sites, representing a global first in utilizing deep learning technology. Throughout his journey with the startup, he navigated myriad challenges, from its early stages to its eventual exit, which enabled him to strategically promote company growth across various stages. Subsequent to his move to Cognex (NASDAQ:CGNX), he stepped into the role of director of deep learning product marketing, where he led business development efforts for AI products and collaborations with global manufacturers in sectors such as EV batteries, electronics, etc.

 

He strongly believes that Asia offers vast opportunities, particularly in regions where manufacturing supply chains are located and are experiencing rapid development. The beginning of his journey was a position at a tire manufacturing company based in a Southeast Asian country (Feel free to ask him about his experience at the rubber farm in the jungles of Papua New Guinea). He also gleaned valuable experience in diverse global operations and strategy initiatives from the corporate development team of Doosan Corporation, South Korea's leading player in the construction equipment and heavy industry sectors. Subsequently, at Bobcat Company, a Doosan Corporation affiliate, he focused on factory automation and supply chains, further fueling his aspiration for global business ventures in the physical industry.

 

With a distinguished academic background in both mechanical engineering and business administration at Seoul National University, he brings knowledge and experience to his role as the CEO and founder of CarbonBlack. In his free time, he finds joy in nature through activities such as fishing, scuba diving, and snowboarding.
